In this episode of Cultures of AI, host Samborne Bush explores how artificial intelligence is transforming higher education. Through conversations with a student, a lecturer, and a learning technologist, the episode reveals the opportunities and challenges that AI brings to universities.

Student Frances Patrick shares her first experiences using AI at university and how it shaped her studies, raising questions about trust, accuracy, and independence in learning. Lecturer Dr Itzelle Medina discusses how AI is used in learning analytics and the importance of responsible and transparent use of data in education. Finally, Mark Shand from the University of the West of England reflects on how universities can build confidence and ethical awareness among staff and students through AI literacy.

Together, they explore how education can empower people to understand and use AI responsibly.
