School Meal Memories

School Meal Memories is a documentary film developed with Ed Cartledge from Sort Of...Films, Dr Heather Ellis and researchers leading the ESRC-funded project 'The School Meals Service - Past, Present, and Future? (Grant No ES/X000737/1, 2023-2025).

The Sheffield-based strand of the project has collected a series of oral history interviews with individuals across the UK centring on their memories of school meals, whether as a recipient themselves, the parent of a child having school meals or a member of the teaching or catering staff at a school.

The film showcases the school meal memories of the headteacher of one of the partner schools, former students, members of the catering team and current pupils and their families.
