What does a non smoking lung cancer diagnosis feel like? Hear honest stories from people who have lived it and find support, understanding and hope.
Being diagnosed with lung cancer can be difficult to understand, especially for someone who has never smoked.
This video shares first hand experiences from people living with non smoking lung cancer. They talk about receiving their diagnosis, dealing with uncertainty and finding information and support.
People with non smoking lung cancer are often younger and more likely to be women than other people diagnosed with the disease. They may also have different treatment options and live with the condition for longer.
The video aims to help people who have recently received a diagnosis feel less alone. It offers honest insights from others who have faced similar questions, fears and challenges. You will also find links to further information and sources of support.
Research behind the video
The video draws on research led by Dr Sarah Hargreaves from the Mesothelioma UK Research Centre at the University of Sheffield.
The research explored what information people need after a non smoking lung cancer diagnosis, what can prevent them from finding it and how support could be improved.
