Professor Judy Clegg, from Human Communication Sciences, is a speech and language therapist who specialises in work with children and young people who have Autism, downs and other less obvious disabilities.
Judy developed the Small Talk Clinic, aimed at parents and carers for pre-school children with developmental differences in their communication.
Students studying speech and language therapy courses undertake placements at Small Talk to help develop their interpersonal skills and support those who need it individually.
Nearly 1,000 children, along with their families and carers, have found a path to better communication thanks to Small Talk.
