Sounds of the Cosmos: The Future


Embark on a breathtaking voyage to the outer limits of the universe with Gustav Holst’s astronomical tour-de-force The Planets. In this filmed orchestral performance, Holst’s monumental music is combined with short talks about the cosmos and spectacular visuals.

In the final chapter - The Future - Paul Crowther provides an overview of the contemporary questions in astrophysics, including the nature of dark matter, the search for planets around other stars and how they will be addressed by upcoming large telescopes such as the James Webb Space Telescope and the Extremely Large Telescope, enhanced by stunning NASA, ESA, ESO images.
