Rethinking Creativity in the Age of Machines
Discover how artists use AI to create, question and imagine new forms of art. Hear from experts exploring creativity, ethics and the future of human–machine collaboration.
In this episode of Cultures of AI, host Samborne Bush explores how artificial intelligence is changing the creative arts. Researcher Erinma Ochu shares how artists use AI to experiment, innovate and question the cultures that shape technology. Digital art curator Luba Elliott discusses the rise of generative AI tools like DALL-E and Midjourney, and how artists are using them to create, critique and reimagine visual art. She reflects on the ethical challenges around ownership, authorship and authenticity in AI-generated work.
The episode also features I Am Echoborg, an interactive theatre show by Rik Lander and actor Marie-Hélène Boyd, where audiences talk directly to an AI through a human performer. Together, they reveal how creativity and critical reflection can help society navigate the growing influence of intelligent machines.
