CiviAct

Supporting community-led youth organisations in Sheffield and Manchester

Part of Exploring impact: case studies of colleagues creating lasting, significant, and positive change, South Yorkshire
8 Nov 2023 09:00

CiviAct is a coalition of grassroots organisations in Sheffield and Manchester set up to respond to the enduring social, economic and justice inequalities experienced by minoritised children and young people.

The initiative, which is led by Dr Will Mason, connects charities and campaign groups such as the Hideaway Youth Project, Joint Enterprise Not Guilty by Association (JENGbA), and Unity Gym, and supports them in aspects of administration, governance, and reporting, and to apply for funds as a collaborative group.

This means they can represent better value for money, demonstrate a wider range of impact across different regions, and focus on the delivery of their core mission: helping young people transcend obstacles, resist injustice, and challenge the status quo.
