Voice Works

In this podcast, Professor Renee Timmers, Department of Music, introduces the Voice Works project.

The Voice Works interactive talk and workshop resulted from a collaboration between singer/vocal coach Dr Michael Bonshor, speech/language therapist Karen Esposito and people with Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction. It was facilitated by Mir Jansen with research by Professor Renee Timmers.

The workshop demonstrated that singing and breathing techniques can address vocal impairment, highlighting the effect of Arts in Health and informing future speech therapy practice.

Sound artist Chris Bevan has created an electronic music composition based on the Voice Works recordings from the workshops, which you can listen to below.
