Many people assume that services including GP’s, hospitals, specialist hospitals, walk-in and mental health services come under one big organisation, the NHS. But this is not the case. Local health and care systems are made up of a whole range of independent organisations. This can result in a very fragmented approach to designing health care that fits together well.
